This is me missing the point again, but even if it is cute, you still have to think of the meaning of cochlear implants. Is being deaf so bad that you have to elect for your infant son to undergo surgery to hear? I mean, they could’ have waited until he was older.

being deaf can often make life harder when it comes to school and such…  i know cochlear implants can be controversial etc but sometimes parents don’t have the resources to deal with some issues that come up?

i think the parents did the right thing, getting it later in life makes it more difficult for the child to learn to talk. ps this was really cute, i totally cried.
